Every year at the AGM we nominate a local charity to support.
We would like to formally announce our nomination of DocBike as the local charity we will raise funds for throughout the year. Our commitment to supporting this organisation reflects our dedication to contributing positively to our community. We encourage everyone to participate in various fundraising activities planned over the coming months to help achieve our goals. Thank you for your continued support.
DocBike is a charity aimed at combining a highly qualified Doctor or Paramedic with two wheels to reduce deaths and serious injuries on our roads due to motorcycle collisions. When motorcyclists are involved in a collision, often the injuries are catastrophic, and no amount of medical care can save a person’s life. This is why a lot of the DocBike charity’s time is invested in preventing motorcyclists from being in a collision in the first place. This is done through engagement at events, education and encouraging bikers to upskill with courses like Biker Down or the IAM Advanced riding courses.
The bike will eventually respond to Life Threatening (category 1) calls and motorcycle accidents and will have the added benefit that it will be able to access rural areas sometimes quicker than an ambulance.
